Qad Kafani Ilmu Rabbi

قَدْ كَفَانِي عِْلمُ رَبِّي
مِنْ سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي
فَدُعَائِي وَ ابْتِهَالِي
شَاهِدٌ لِي بِافْتِقَارِي
فَلِهَذَا السِّرِّ أَدْعُو
فِي يَسَارِي وَ عَسَارِي
أَنَا عَبْدٌ صَارَ فَخْرِي
ضِمْنَ فَقْرِي وَ اضْطِرَارِي
قَدْ كَفَانِي عِلْمُ رَبِّي
مِن سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي
يَا إِلَهِي وَمَلِيكِي
أَنْتَ تَعْلَمْ كَيْفَ حَالِي
وَبِمَا قَدْ حَلَّ قَلْبِي
مِنْ هُمُومٍ وَ اشْتِغَالِي
فَتَدَارَكْنِي بِلُطْفٍ
مِنْكَ يَا مَوْلَى المَوَالِي
يَا كَرِيمَ الوَجْهِ غِثْنِي
قَبْلَ أَنْ يَفْنَى اصْطِبَارِي
قَدْ كَفَانِي عِلْمُ رَبِّي
مِنْ سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي
يَا سَرِيعَ الغَوثِ غَوْثًا
مِنْكَ يُدْرِكْنِي سَرِيعًا
يَهْزِمُ العُسْرَ وَ يَأْتِي
بِالَّذِي أَرْجُو جَمِيعًا
يَا قَرِيبًا يَا مُجِيبًا
يَا عَلِيمًا يَا سَمِيعًا
قَدْ تَحَقَّقْتُ بِعَجْزِي
وَ خُضُوعِي وَ انْكِسَارِي
قَدْ كَفَانِي عِلْمُ رَبِّي
مِنْ سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي
لَمْ أَزَل بِالبَابِ وَاقِف
فَارْحَمَنْ رَبِّي وُقُوفِي
وَ بِوَادِي الفَضْلِ عَاكِف
فَأَدِمْ رَبِّي عُكُوفِي
وَ لِحُسْنِ الظَّنِّ لَازِم
فَهوَ خِلِّي وَ حَلِيفِي
وَ أَنِيسِي وَ جَلِيسِي
طُولَ لَيْـلِي وَ نَهَارِي
قَدْ كَفَانِي عِلْمُ رَبِّي
مِنْ سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي
حَاجَةً فِي النَّفْسِ يَا رَب
فَاقْضِهَا يَا خَيْرَ قَاضِي
وَ أَرِحْ سِرِّي وَ قَلْبِي
مِن لَظَاهَا وَ الشُّوَاظِ
فِي سُرُورٍ وَ حُبُورٍ
وَ إِذَا مَا كُنْتَ رَاضِي
فَالْهَنَا وَ الْبَسْطُ حَالِي
وَ شِعَارِي وَ دِثَارِي
قَدْ كَفَانِي عِلْمُ رَبِّي
مِنْ سُؤَالِي وَ اخْتِيَارِي

Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī
Fa-du‘ā’ī wa ibtihālī
Shāhidun lī bi-iftiqārī
Fa-li-hādhā al-sirri ad‘ū
Fī yasārī wa ‘asārī
Anā ‘abdun ṣāra fakhrī
Ḍimna faqri wa iḍṭirārī
Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī
Yā Ilāhī wa Malikī
Anta ta‘lam kayfa ḥālī
Wa bimā qad ḥalla qalbī
Min humūmin wa ishtighālī
Fa-tadāraknī bi-luṭfin
Minka yā Mawlā al-mawālī
Yā Karīma al-wajhi ghithnī
Qabla an yafnā iṣṭibārī
Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī
Yā sarī‘a al-ghawthi ghawthan
Minka yudriknī sarī‘ā
Yahzimu al-‘usra wa ya’tī
Bi-lladhī arjū jamī‘ā
Yā qarīban yā mujīban
Yā ‘alīman yā samī‘ā
Qad taḥaqqaqtu bi-‘ajzī
Wa khuḍū‘ī wa inksirārī
Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī
Lam azal bi-l-bābi wāqif
Fa-rḥaman Rabbī wuqūfī
Wa bi-wādī al-faḍli ‘ākif
Fa-adim Rabbī ‘ukūfī
Wa li-ḥusni al-ẓanni lāzim
Fahuwa khillī wa ḥalīfī
Wa anīsī wa jalīsī
Ṭūla laylī wa nahārī
Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī
Ḥājatan fī al-nafsi yā Rabb
Faqḍihā yā khayra qāḍī
Wa arḥ sirrī wa qalbī
Min laẓāhā wa al-shuwāẓī
Fī surūrin wa ḥubūrin
Wa idhā mā kunta rāḍī
Fa-al-hanā wa al-basṭu ḥālī
Wa shi‘ārī wa dithārī
Qad kafānī ‘ilmu Rabbī
Min su’ālī wa ikhtiyārī

My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
For my dua and my agonizing supplication
is a witness to my poverty
For this secret I make supplication
in times of ease and times of difficulty
I am a slave whose pride is in
his poverty and obligation
My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
O my Lord and my King
You know my state
And what has settled in my heart
of agonies and preoccupations
Save me with a gentleness
from You, You, O Lord of Lords
Oh save me, Most Generous
before I run out of patience
My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
O One who is swift in sending aid
I ask for aid that will arrive to me swiftly
It will defeat all difficulty and it will bring
all that I hope for
O Near One Who answers
and All-Knowing and All-Hearing
I have attained realization through my incapacity,
my submission and my brokenness
My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
I am still standing by the door,
so please my Lord have mercy on my standing
In the valley of generosity, I am in solitary retreat
So, Allah, make my retreat here permanent
And I'm abiding by good opinion (of You)
For it is my friend and ally
And it is the one that sits by me and keeps me company
All day and night
My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
from asking or choosing
There is a need in my soul, O Allah
so please fulfill it, O Best of Fulfillers
And comfort my secret and my heart
from its burning and its shrapnel
In pleasure and in happiness
and as long as You are pleased with me
For joy and expansion is my state
and my motto and my cover
My Lords knowledge has sufficed me
