Taballagh bi-l-qalīli mina l-qalīli

English translation
Make do with a little,
And prepare your provision for the long journey ahead.
Do not be deceived by this world, but leave it,
For this world is no lasting home for any guest.
Do not suppose that you shall remain forever,
For there is no path that leads to permanence here.
Do not be eager for wealth that you will leave behind,
For relatives or for your own offspring after you.
Spend from it, whatever wealth it may be,
And send some ahead for the Day of great severity.
The finest provision is the fear of Allah, so know this!
Strive earnestly, and turn away from idle talk and hearsay.
The right of Allah is greater than every other right,
So fulfil what is due to the Majestic King.
Obedience to Him is the wealth of both abodes, so hold fast to it;
Within it lies honour for the lowly servant.
In disobedience to Him are shame and Fire,
And in it are remoteness, disgrace, and grievous ruin.
So do not disobey your God, but obey Him always,
That perhaps you may be blessed with acceptance,
And with the pleasure of a Generous Lord,
Vast in bounty, the Bestower of abundant gifts.
May our Lord send His blessings at every moment,
And grant peace in the morning and the evening,
Upon Taha, the bearer of glad tidings of every good,
The Seal of the Messengers, the guide who shows the way.
