The Shimmering Light - Chapter 1

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ
الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا
بِعَبْدِهِ الْمُخْتَارِ مَنْ دَعَانَا
إِلَيْهِ بِالْإِذْنِ وَقَدْ نَادَانَا
لَبَّيْكَ يَا مَنْ دَلَّنَا وَحَدَانَا
صَلَّى عَلَيْكَ اللّٰهُ بَارِئُكَ الَّذِي
بِكَ يَا مُشَفَّعُ خَصَّنَا وَحَبَانَا
مَعَ آلِكَ الْأَطْهَارِ مَعْدِنِ سِرِّكَ
الْأَسْمَى فَهُمْ سُفُنُ النَّجَاةِ حِمَانَا
وَعَلىٰ صَحَابَتِكَ الْكِرَامِ حُمَاةِ دِيــ
ــنِكَ أَصْبَحُو لِوَلَائِهِ عُنْوَانَا
وَالتَّابِعِينَ لَهُمْ بِصِدْقٍ مَا حَدَى
حَادِي الْمَوَدَّةِ هَيَّجَ الْأَشْجَانَا
وَاللّٰهِ مَا ذُكِرَ الْحَبِيبُ لَدَى الْمُحِبْ
إِلَّا وَأَضْحَى وَالِهًا نَشْوَانَا
أَيْنَ الْمُحِبُّونَ الَّذِينَ عَلَيْهِمُ
بَذْلُ النُّفُوسِ مَعَ النَّفَائِسِ هَانَا
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ بِذِكْرِ طَهَ الْمُصْطَفَى
إِلَّا بِهِ انْتَعَشُوا وَأَذْهَبَ رَانَا
فَاهْتَاجَتِ الْأَرْوَاحُ تَشْتَاقُ اللِّقَا
وَتَحِنُّ تَسْأَلُ رَبَّهَا الرِّضْوَانَا
حَالُ الْمُحِبِّينَ كَذَا فَاسْمَعْ إِلَى
سِيَرِ الْمُشَفَّعِ وَارْهِفِ الْآذَانَا
وَانْصِتْ إِلَى أَوْصَافِ طَهَ الْمُجْتَبَى
وَاحْضِرْ لِقَلْبِكَ يَمْتَلِئْ وِجْدَانَا
يَا رَبَّنَا صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمًا
عَلٰى حَبِيبِكَ مَنْ إِلَيْكَ دَعَانَا
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهْ

Allāhumma ṣalli wa sallim wa bārik ʿalayhi wa ʿalā ālih
Alḥamdu lillāhil-ladhī hadānā
Bi ʿabdihil mukhtāri man daʿānā
Ilayhi bil-idhni wa qad nādānā
Labbayka yā man dallanā wa ḥadānā
Ṣallā ʿalaykal-lāhu bāri-ukal-ladhī
Bika yā mushaf-fa-ʿu khaṣṣanā wa ḥabānā
Ma-ʿa ālikal aṭhāri maʿdini sirrikal
Asmā fahum sufunun-najāti ḥimānā
Wa ʿalā ṣaḥābatikal kirāmi ḥumāti Dī
nika aṣbaḥū liwalā ihi ʿunwānā
Wat-tābiʿīna lahum biṣidqin māḥādā
Ḥādil mawaddati hayyajal ashjānā
Wal-lāhi mā dhukiral ḥabību ladal muḥib
Illā wa-aḍḥā wālihan nashwānā
Aynal muḥibbūnal ladhīna ʿalayhimu
Badhlun nufūsi maʿan nafā-isi hānā
Lā yasmaʿūna bidhikri Ṭāhal Muṣṭafā
Illā bihin taʿashū wa-adh-haba rānā
Fahtājatil arwāḥu tash-tāqul liqā
Wa taḥinnu tas-alu rabbahar-riḍwānā
Ḥālul muḥibbīna kadhā fasmaʿ ilā
Siyaril mushaf-fa-ʿi war-hifil ādhānā
Wanṣit ilā awṣāfi Ṭāhal mujtabā
Waḥḍir liqalbika yamtali’ wijdānā
Yā Rabbanā ṣalli wa sallim dā-iman
ʿalā ḥabībika man ilayka daʿānā
Allāhumma ṣalli wa sallim wa bārik ʿalayhi wa ʿalā ālih

O Allāh, send your mercy, peace and blessings upon him and his family
All praise is due to Allāh, Who guided us
By His chosen slave, Muḥammad, who called us
To Him with permission, indeed he invited us,
At your service, O you who guided us and urged us forward
Allāh, your Creator, confers His Mercy upon you,
Through you, O Possessor of intercession, He distinguished and favoured us.
(And His Mercy) upon your purified family, the treasure trove of your highest secret
For they are ships of salvation, our sanctuary.
(And His Mercy) Upon your illustrious companions, the defenders of your religion
The standard bearers of true devotion to him.
(And His Mercy upon) all who follow them with truthfulness, as long as
The camel driver urges the caravan of love igniting the fire of yearning.
By Allāh, never is the Beloved mentioned in the presence of the true lover
Except that he becomes passionately overwhelmed with joy.
Where are the lovers who find ease
In sacrificing their souls and every precious thing (for their beloved)?
Never do they hear a mention of Ṭāhā, the Chosen one
Except by it, they are revived and it removes the corrosion.
The souls have become excited, yearning for the meeting
Longing and asking their Lord for his pleasure.
Such is the state of the true lovers, so listen closely
To the life story of the One whose intercession is accepted.
And listen attentively to the description of Ṭaha The Elect,
Come with a presence of heart, and it will be filled with ecstasy and yearning.
Our Lord! Send Your Mercy and Peace perpetually
upon Your Beloved, the one who called us to You.
O Allāh, send your mercy, peace and blessings upon him and his family
