لَيْلًا سَرَى وَأَمَّ
بِالْأَنْبِيَاءِ الْمَرْضِيَّةِ
رَقَى عَلَى الْبُرَاقِ
إِلَى السَّبْعِ الطِّبَاقِ
رَاجِي مِنَ الْخَلَّاقِ
عَفْوًا عَنِ الْخَطِيَّةِ
وَالطَّالِبُ رَأَى الْمَطْلُوبَ
فِي الْحَضْرَةِ الْقُدْسِيَّةِ
Transliteration
Laylan sarā wa-amma
bi-l-anbiyāʾi l-marḍiyyah
Raqā ʿalā l-burāqi
ilā as-sabʿi ṭ-ṭibāqi
Rājī mina l-khallāqi
ʿafwan ʿani l-khaṭiyyah
Wa-ṭ-ṭālibu raʾā l-maṭlūba
fī l-ḥaḍrati l-qudsiyyah
English translation
At night, he journeyed and led
the prophets in prayer.
He ascended on the buraq
to the seven heavens.
Hoping for forgiveness from the Creator
for any faults.
And the seeker (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) saw the sought (Allah)
in the sacred presence.
