Muddati-l-aydī li-bābik

مُدَّتِ الْأَيْدِي لِبَابِكْ
تَرْتَجِيْ عَفْوَ جَنَابِكْ
فِي سَوَادِ اللَّيْلِ تَشْكُو
بَأْسَهَا وَاللَّيْلُ حَالِكْ
فَأَعِذْنَا يَا إِلَهِيْ
مِنْ لَظَى حَرِّ عَذَابِكْ
مَا لَنَا إِلَّاكَ ذُخْرًا
أُوْصِدَتْ كُلُّ الْمَسَالِكْ
يَا أَخِي حَتَّى مَا تَبْقَى
فِي دُجَى الظُّلُمَاتِ سَالِكْ
تُبْ إِلَى اللَّهِ سَرِيْعًا
وَاتَّقِ وِرْدَ الْمَهَالِكْ
وَاطْلُبِ الْعَفْوَ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ
تَحْظَى بِنَوَالِكْ
يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ الْخَطَايَا
ثُمَّ يَمْحُو كُلَّ ذَلِكْ

Muddat al-aydī li-bābik
Tartajī ʿafwa janābik
Fī sawādi-l-layli tashkū
Baʾsahā wal-laylu ḥālik
Fa-aʿidhnā yā ilāhī
Min laẓā ḥarri ʿadhābik
Mā lanā illāka dhukhran
Ūṣidat kullu-l-masālik
Yā akhī ḥattā mā tabqā
Fī dujā-ẓ-ẓulumāti sālik
Tub ilā-llāhi sarīʿan
Wattaqi wirda-l-mahālik
Waṭlubi-l-ʿafwa mina-r-Raḥmāni
Taḥẓā bi-nawālik
Yaghfiru-llāhu-l-khaṭāyā
Thumma yamḥū kulla dhālik

Hands are outstretched at Your door,
Hoping for Your gracious pardon.
In the blackness of the night, they lament
Their distress, while the night is pitch-dark.
So grant us refuge, O my God,
From the blazing heat of Your punishment.
We have no refuge but You;
Every path has been closed.
O my brother, how long will you continue
walking in the depths of darkness?
Turn swiftly to Allah in repentance,
And beware of entering the paths of ruin.
Seek pardon from the Most Merciful;
You shall receive the bounty you seek.
Allah forgives sins,
Then wipes all of them away.
