English translation

My Beloved has blessed me with union,
And bestowed His generous gifts upon me.
At the doorway of the Beloved I set down my burdens,
Hoping to be granted closeness and connection.

The people of God are gates of grace,
Channels of divine manifestation and perfection.

O moon whose radiance dazzles this age,
Your light has astonished both my heart and mind.

A fallen seeker in your sanctuary, I seek refuge
From my own soul and the ugliness of my deeds.

A single loving glance from you revives my heart,
And the tenderness of your compassion restores my whole being.

So raise your hands to the Exalted Lord
He who grants all those who ask the greatest of gifts.

Call upon the One who answers whoever calls upon Him,
And never deprives a hopeful seeker of His overflowing bounty.

And a gesture from you, in the best of unions,
Upon Tāhā, will fulfil all my deepest hopes.
