English translation

O driver of the caravan, go gently,
and sing before the travellers.
Among this caravan are my beloved ones
they’ve taken my heart along with them.
Who is left for me, if they have taken my heart?

They scattered me in the deserts,
they took my very soul from me
who is left for me, if they have taken my heart?

Gently, gently with me, O driver,
gently, gently with my heart
who is left for me, if they have taken my heart?
And show proper reverence in their sanctuary,
and do not love anyone besides them
for they are indeed the healing of my heart.
