Laka al-Hamd

لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا ذَالْحِلْمِ وَالْعَفْوِ وَالسِّتْرِ
وَحَمْدِيَ مِنْ نُعْمَاكَ يَا وَاسِعَ الْبِرِّ
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَدَّ الْقَطْرِ والْرَمْلِ وَالْحَصَى
وَعَدَّ نَبَاتِ الْأَرْضِ وَالْحُوتِ فِي الْبَحْرِ
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَدَّ النَّمْلِ وَالْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ
وَمِلْءَ السَّمَا وَالْعَرْشِ وَالْكَوْكَبِ الدُّرِّ
وَمِلْءَ الْفَضَا وَاللَّوْحِ وَالْكُرْسِي وَالثَّرَى
وَعَدَّ جَمِيعِ الْكَائِنَاتِ إِلَى الْحَشْرِ
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّي كَمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ
فَإِنِّيَ لَا أُحْصِي الثَّنَاءَ مَدَى الدَّهْرِ
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا مُعْطِي الْمَوَاهِبَ بِالْفَضْلِ
وَمَانِحَ أَهْلِ اللهِ بِالْفَتْحِ وَالنَّصْرِ
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِالأَنْفَاسِ وَالْجِسْمِ وَالْقَلْبِ
تَفَضَّلْ عَلَى عَبْدٍ تَحَيَّرَ فِي الْأَمْرِ
فَإِنِّي وَإِنْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبِي تَعُوقُنِي
فَلِي فِيكَ حُسْنُ الظَّنِّ يَجْبُرُ لِي كَسْرِي
فَمُنَّ عَلَيْنَا يَاغُفُورُ بِتَوْبَةٍ
تَجُبُّ الَّذِي قَدْ كَانَ فِي سَالِفِ الْعُمْرِ
وَزِدْنَا مِنَ النَّعْمَاءِ وَالنُّورِ وَالْكَشْفِ
وَمَكِّنَّا فِي الْإِرْشَادِ بِالْإِذْنِ وَالسِّرِّ
وَ أَيِّدْنَا فِي أَقْوَالِنَا وَفِعَالِنَا
وَيَسِّرْ لَنَا الْأَرْزَاقَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا نَدْرِي
فَهَا نَحْنُ فِي بَابِ التَّفَضُّلِ وَاقِفٌ
وَمُنْتَظِرٌ عَطْفَ الْحَبِيبِ بِلَا عُسْرِ
فَأَنْعِمْ عَلَيْنَا يَا مُجِيبُ بِسُرْعَةٍ
فَإِنَّكَ أَهْلُ الْجُودِ وَالْمَنِّ وَالْخَيْرِ
فَفَضْلُكَ مَوْجُودٌ بِغَيْرِ وُجُودِنَا
وَجُودُكَ مَسْدُولٌ عَلَيْنَا بِلَا نُكْرِ
وَوَفِّقْنَا لِلشُّكْرِ الَّذِي هُوَ لَازِمٌ
عَلَيْنَا وَيَسْتَدْعِي الْمَزِيدَ بِلَا خُسْرِ
وَأَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ سِجْنِ الْجُسُومِ وَرَقِّنَا
لِحَضْرَةِ أَرْوَاحِ ثَوَابًا عَلَى الشُّكْرِ
وَأَشْهِدْنَا مَعْنَى الذَّاتِ فِي كُلِّ مَظْهَرِ
لِيَقْوَى شُهُودِي فِي الشَّدَائِدِ وَالْيُسْرِ
وَأَفْنِنَا عَنَّا وَابْقِنَا بِكَ دَائِمًا
لِنَلْحَقَ أَهْلَ الْإِرْثِ مِنْ حَضْرَةِ السِّرِّ
فَأَمْرُكَ لِلْأَشْيَاءِ فِي قَوْلِ كُنْ تَكُنْ
فَكَوِّنْ لَنَا الْأَشْيَاءَ عَزْمًا بِلَا مَكْرِ
وَصَلِّ بِأَنْوَاعِ الْكَمَالَاتِ كُلِّهَا
عَلَى أَحْمَدَ الْهَادِي إِلَى حَضْرَةِ الطُّهْرِ
وَآلِهِ وَالصَّحْبِ الْكِرَامِ وَمَنْ دَعَا
لِنَاظِمِ هَذَا النَّاظْمِ بِالشَّرْحِ لِلصَّدْرِ
وَيَا رَبِّ بِالْهَادِي الرَّؤُوفِ مُحَمَّدِ
أَنِلْنَا عُلُومًا تَنْفَعُنَا يَوْمَ الْحَشْرِ
وَقَوِّنَا بِالْأَنْوَارِ فِي كُلِّ لَحْظَةٍ
وَثَبِّتْنَا عِنْدَ الْخَتْمِ وَالنَّزْعِ وَالْقَبْرِ

Laka al-ḥamdu yā dhā al-ḥilmi wa-l-ʿafwi wa-s-sitri
Wa-ḥamdiya min nuʿmāka yā wāsiʿa al-birri
Laka al-ḥamdu ʿadda al-qaṭri wa-r-ramli wa-l-ḥaṣā
Wa-ʿadda nabāti al-arḍi wa-l-ḥūti fī al-baḥri
Laka al-ḥamdu ʿadda an-namli wa-l-jinni wa-l-insi
Wa-milʾa as-samā wa-l-ʿarshi wa-l-kawkabi ad-durri
Wa-milʾa al-faḍā wa-l-lawḥi wa-l-kursī wa-th-tharā
Wa-ʿadda jamīʿi al-kāʾināti ilā al-ḥashri
Laka al-ḥamdu yā rabbī kamā anta ahluhu
Fa-inniya lā uḥṣī ath-thanāʾa madā ad-dahri
Laka al-ḥamdu yā muʿṭī al-mawāhiba bi-l-faḍli
Wa-māniḥa ahli Allāhi bi-l-fatḥi wa-n-naṣri
Laka al-ḥamdu bi-l-anfāsi wa-l-jismi wa-l-qalbi
Tafaḍḍal ʿalā ʿabdin taḥayyara fī al-amri
Fa-innī wa-in kānat dhunūbī taʿūqunī
Fa-lī fīka ḥusnu aẓ-ẓanni yajburu lī kasrī
Fa-munna ʿalaynā yā Ghafūru bi-tawbatin
Tajubbu alladhī qad kāna fī sālifi al-ʿumri
Wa-zidnā mina an-naʿmāʾi wa-n-nūri wa-l-kashfi
Wa-makkinnā fī al-irshādi bi-l-idhni wa-s-sirri
Wa-ayyidnā fī aqwālinā wa-fiʿālinā
Wa-yassir lanā al-arzāqa min ḥaythu lā nadrī
Fa-hā naḥnu fī bābi at-tafaḍḍuli wāqifun
Wa-muntaẓirun ʿaṭfa al-ḥabībi bi-lā ʿusri
Fa-anʿim ʿalaynā yā Mujību bi-surʿatin
Fa-innaka ahlu al-jūdi wa-l-manni wa-l-khayri
Fa-faḍluka mawjūdun bi-ghayri wujūdinā
Wa-jūduka masdūlun ʿalaynā bi-lā nukri
Wa-waffiqnā li-sh-shukri alladhī huwa lāzimun
ʿAlaynā wa-yastadʿī al-mazīda bi-lā khusri
Wa-akhrijnā min sijni al-jusūmi wa-raqqinā
Li-ḥaḍrati arwāḥi thawāban ʿalā ash-shukri
Wa-ashhidnā maʿnā adh-dhāti fī kulli maẓhari
Li-yaqwā shuhūdī fī ash-shadāʾidi wa-l-yusri
Wa-afninā ʿannā wa-abqinā bika dāʾiman
Li-nalḥaqa ahla al-irthi min ḥaḍrati as-sirri
Fa-amruka li-l-ashyāʾi fī qawli kun takun
Fa-kawwin lanā al-ashyāʾa ʿazman bi-lā makri
Wa-ṣalli bi-anwāʿi al-kamālāti kullihā
ʿAlā Aḥmada al-hādī ilā ḥaḍrati aṭ-ṭuhri
Wa-ālihi wa-ṣ-ṣaḥbi al-kirāmi wa-man daʿā
Li-nāẓimi hādhā an-nāẓmi bi-sh-sharḥi li-ṣ-ṣadri
Wa-yā rabbī bi-l-hādī ar-raʾūfi Muḥammadi
Anilnā ʿulūman tanfaʿunā yawma al-ḥashri
Wa-qawwinā bi-l-anwāri fī kulli laḥẓatin
Wa-thabbitnā ʿinda al-khatmi wa-n-nazʿi wa-l-qabri

Yours is all praise, O You Who covers our faults in Your Gentleness and Pardon.
My praise is part of Your Grace, You whose goodness envelops all.

Yours is praise as abundant as raindrops, grains of sands, and pebbles,
As abundant as the plants of the earth, and the fish in the sea.

Yours is praise as abundant as the ants, the jinn, and humankind,
Praise which fills the sky and the Throne and the stars that glisten above.

Praise which fills the vastness of space, the Tablet, the Chair, and the soil,
Praise as abundant as all who exist till the Day of the final Assembly.

Yours is praise, O my Lord, praise as is Your due.
I could not number Your praises, were I given all earthly time.

Yours is praise, O Bestower of gifts, by way of Your infinite Grace,
You are the One Who grants Allah's people Opening and Victory.

Yours is praise, with every breath, with the body and heart:
so be Benevolent towards a servant who is bewildered in the way.

Though my sins may weigh heavy upon me
Still I trust in Your goodness to mend my brokenness.

Favor us, O Most Forgiving Lord, with repentance
that effaces the mistakes which were made in the past.

And increase us in blessings, light, and unveilings,
And enable us to guide with permission and secret.

Support us in what we say and do,
And make it easy our provision from a place we do not know.

Here we stand at the door of benevolence
Awaiting without hardship the kindness of the Friend.

You Who answers prayers, hasten Your grace upon us
You are truly the One full of generosity, goodness, and favor.

Your favor existed when we did not
Your generosity undeniably rains down upon us.

Grant us the gratitude incumbent upon us
Which beckons increase without any loss.

Bring us forth from the prison of physical forms and raise us
To the realm of spirits as recompense for thanks.

And let us witness in every theophany the meaning of the Essence
That our vision might be strengthened both in hardship and in ease.

Efface us from our egos and sustain us always in You
That we might be among those who are heir to the realm of the secret.

For Your command to all things is, “Be,” and they are
So make things be resolutely for us without ruse.

And, O Lord, shower blessings in every mode of perfection
Upon Ahmad the Guide to the realm of Purity.

And upon his people, and noble companions, and any who pray
That the rhymer of these verses be granted breadth of heart.

O Lord, by Muhammad, the compassionate guide,
Grant us knowledge that will serve us on Resurrection Day.

Strengthen us with lights at every instant,
And keep us steadfast at the end when the spirit is taken, and in the grave.
